John Krasinski and Steve Carell Reunite for New Film IF
The Office co-stars, John Krasinski and Steve Carell, reunited for the new upcoming film, IF.
The pair will star together in the upcoming animated film IF, their first project together since The Office ended a decade ago in 2013. They portrayed coworkers at the Dunder Mifflin paper company in the sitcom series, following the daily lives of office workers in a hilarious storyline. Krasinski embodied Jim Halpert, a likable receptionist, and Carell portrayed his awkward boss, Michael Scott.
The actors reunited in the studio in a sweet video, seeing each other for the first time in years. The official X account for the IF film tweeted the video early this week on April 23, giving fans the heartfelt and funny reunion they have been waiting for.

In the video, Carell walks in, surprising Krasinski, joking about it being their fifth take to film. The playful video was very on-brand for the comedy actors, with them immediately doing another take and pretending it was the first time seeing each other again.
They will share the screen with a star-studded cast such as Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead) as leads, along with Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), and more who will voice the imaginary friends.
IF is a live-action and animated fantasy film. The story follows a young girl named Bea (Fleming) who can see everyone’s imaginary friends, who they refer to as “ifs.” Her neighbor, Cal, has the same ability, and they embark on a journey to reunite the ifs with their real-life friends who grew up without them.

Krasinski stars as Bea’s dad and voice one of the characters, Marshmallow Man. Carell will voice Blue, a purple furry creature, the main imaginary friend featured throughout the trailer. Krasinski wrote, produced, and directed the film.
The last time the pair reunited was through a video call in March 2020 when Covid first began. Krasinski wanted to spread positivity in the world at the time, so he started a series called Some Good News on YouTube, where he would share positive stories from around the world.
Carell and Krasinski chatted virtually during the launch of the video series, speaking about the 15 anniversary of The Office and reminiscing on the fun times they shared.

The short video was a heartfelt moment for longtime fans of The Office. Even though they won’t exactly be on screen together, seeing the pair working on the same project is enough to bring excitement to the upcoming film.
The film will be released in theaters next month on May 17. You can head to YouTube to watch the official trailer or view it below.
