The Weeknd Makes Massive Food Donation to Gaza Once Again
During this challenging time in Gaza, The Weeknd has demonstrated his dedication to helping those in need by donating an extra $2 million to provide food for families.
The donation came to fruition through the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports those on the brink of starvation. According to a report released Monday by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), this significant contribution is expected to have a spectacular impact by generating over 18 million loaves of bread, enough to feed over 157,000 Palestinians for a whole month.

In December 2023, Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, donated $2.5 million to Gaza. Thanks to his donation, he successfully provided four million vital emergency meals to those impacted by the current crisis in the region. His heartfelt act showed his commitment to truly influencing the suffering civilian population in Gaza.
In 2021, the artist solidified his commitment to humanitarian endeavors by accepting the position of Goodwill Ambassador for the WFP. A year later, he took it a step further and founded the XO Humanitarian Fund in collaboration with the WFP USA, exhibiting a strong desire to contribute significantly to the global effort to end hunger.
With the help of his partners and devoted fans, The Weeknd and his team founded The Fund, which has raised an astounding $6.5 million. This incredible amount is designated to provide much-needed assistance to those who are food insecure.

Apart from these endeavors, the celebrated musician, who has won four Grammy Awards, donated $2 million to aid Ethiopian mothers and children via the WFP’s emergency food assistance program.
Barron Segar, the CEO and president of WFP USA, stated, “We are very grateful for Abel’s continued support as WFP works to respond to the urgent hunger crisis in Gaza.”
“Hunger is a human-made problem, and as such, it is solvable. We have enough food in this world to feed everyone; all we need is the funding and safe access to make it happen. Thanks to Abel’s designation, families and children will receive the food they so desperately need,” he ended.
