Marvel Is Resurrecting Vision for New Series
Marvel is resurrecting Vision once again for a brand new Disney+ series with an interesting piece of talent attached.
As reported by Variety, this series will once again feature Paul Bettany as Vision. Terry Matalas, primarily known for his work on Star Trek: Picard, is serving as the showrunner. Moreover, the series is slated to release in 2026.

New Showrunner
Reports of a Disney+ series centered around Paul Bettany’s Vision have circulated since 2022. At the time, Deadline reported that the series is titled Vision Quest and WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer will oversee it.

However, that no longer seems to be the case as Schaeffer is not attached to this project. Independent reporter Jeff Sneider revealed that Schaeffer is taking a break from the MCU after wrapping her spinoff series Agatha All Along. Therefore, Marvel brought Matalas to replace her as showrunner.
Matalas is also known for his work on the MacGyver series, which ran from 2016 to 2021, and the sci-fi series 12 Monkeys. He earned a nomination for a Writers Guild of America Award for Star Trek: Picard. In addition, Matalas recently appeared on a Star Trek-dedicated podcast alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Vision was last seen in the television miniseries WandaVision. Paul Bettany potrayed two versions of the character, earning him an Emmy nomination. Building off that, this series likely focuses on the “White Vision” that appeared in the series finale.
Other than Paul Bettany, no other actors, including Bettany’s WandaVision co-star Elizabeth Olsen, have signed on. WandaVision remains one of Marvel’s highest-rated projects, and one of the few to be nominated for major awards. This spinoff series marks Marvel’s first live-action series pickup in two years, representing a significant shift in their television approach. You can catch up on WandaVision on Disney+.
