Something About Her Is Officially Open: Everything You Need to Know about Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s New Restaurant
Something About Her is officially here. Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney have finally opened their West Hollywood sandwich shop.
The pair have been working on the project for a while, with the first ideations for the restaurant appearing in Vanderpump Rules. The co-founders wanted the space to be “more than a sandwich shop.” They shared, “We wanted it to be a sanctuary – a place where every corner exuded inspiration and every bite spoke of possibility.”
Throughout multiple seasons of the reality program, viewers watched the stars face setbacks in the shop’s launch.
The delays did not deter fans, however, as over 100 people waited in line before the doors even opened. “I arrive at 9:35, not knowing whether to expect a mob or a few die-hard fans. The line wraps around the smoothie shop next door and winds back into the alley,” Katie Heaney, a journalist who attended the launch, described.

At 10:25 a.m. on May 22, Something About Her officially opened. Fans poured in to eat the sandwiches they had heard so much about. “It was very, very exciting when we were opening the blinds,” Madix recalled. “The line has been crazy. We’re just really grateful that all these people are not only willing to come and support, they’re also willing to wait. We are a small place, so, that’s been really awesome,” she explained.
With drama following them everywhere they go, the reality stars of course ran into problems on their first day. The POS (point of sale) system broke, causing delays as they carefully worked to ensure orders were fulfilled properly. “It’s day one, and anything that could possibly go wrong that’s never happened before has. But everybody rallied and got it together, and we started working on a different system, just like that! We got it done,” Madix revealed.
The menu offers a variety of different sandwiches for patrons to enjoy. Each option can be made as a salad at the customer’s request, and prices range from 8 to 18 dollars. The choices are as follows:
- “The Diane,” Sicilian-style tuna salad with olive oil, sunflower microgreens, marinated fennel, preserved lemon, and fresh dill on an artisan baguette
- “The Kerry,” chickpea salad with kelp flakes, marinated fennel, preserved lemon, Kalamata olives, fennel fronds, and gem lettuce on toasted 7-grain bread
- “The Reese,” chef’s chicken salad with small batch balsamic mustard and gem lettuce on 7-grain bread
- “The Drew,” whipped chive-infused goat cheese, mango jalapeño jam, shaved pink lady apple, cucumber, olive oil, rich balsamic glaze, arugula, and fresh mint on an artisan baguette

The restaurant’s interior was created by production designer Jon Hutman, famous for his work in Nancy Meyers’s films. It features antique chandeliers and Tiffany-blue latticework, giving the space a “coastal ’90s chic” vibe.
After opening, Something About Her’s official Instagram account posted a message thanking patrons. It read, “Thank you to everyone who came out for our grand opening yesterday! seeing the line of excited faces around the corner truly filled our hearts (and our kitchen). we apologize for the unprecedented wait times – our small but mighty team was slicing, dicing, and stacking as fast as we could! and every day we are committed to learning how to serve you better! can’t wait for you all to taste the love in every bite. your support means the world to us!”
