BELIFT LAB released a new video refuting claims that their group, ILLIT, plagiarized NewJeans, at the same time they asserted that NewJeans plagiarized NMIXX.

For months, there has been an ongoing internal legal battle between HYBE, the label behind BTS and Tomorrow X Together, and Hee Minjin, CEO of ADOR. Both ADOR and BELIFT LAB are subsidiaries of HYBE, while NMIXX is under JYP Entertainment.

Hee Minjin, CEO of ADOR, which manages NewJeans, previously alleged that HYBE’s newest girl group, ILLIT, had plagiarized NewJeans.

In response to these allegations, BELIFT LAB’s 27-minute video features one of ILLIT’s choreographers discussing dance plagiarism. The video includes clips comparing NewJeans’ choreography to that of other groups like ILLIT and NMIXX.

Additionally, it draws parallels between NewJeans’ choreography and that of Western artists such as TLC and Jojo Gomez, illustrating similarities in dance moves and stylistic elements.

Fans of all three girl groups have shared their opinions on the ongoing feud, with discussions proliferating on social media platforms. Some fans defended their favorite groups, while others criticized the companies involved for not resolving the matter privately.

Alongside the plagiarism claims, BELIFT LAB faces backlash from NewJeans fans regarding the description of the group’s concept. At the 6:51 mark in the video, a page is shown describing how ILLIT’s concepts differ from those of BLACKPINK, IVE, and NewJeans.

The video controversially states that although NewJeans members are teenagers, they are “the object of adult fantasy.” This statement has sparked outrage among fans, who argue that it sexualizes the young members and undermines their artistic contributions.

NewJeans fans have responded with the hashtag #ADORPROTECTNEWJEANS and are calling for an apology from BELIFT LAB. Many posts also include the message “BELIFT APOLOGIZE TO NEWJEANS,” demanding accountability and respect for the artists.

The internal ongoing conflict within HYBE persists, along with the dispute between fans of the girl groups.
