Alexandra Daddario Is Expecting Her First Child
After six months of secrecy, cropped Instagram posts, and public outings in baggy clothes, Alexandra Daddario has announced her pregnancy.
The actress was excited to finally give this happy news on her own timeline. Celebrities waiting to share their pregnancy has become more and more popular in recent years. Many women choose to celebrate the new stage in their lives privately with friends and family. The popularity of social media has heavily contributed to this trend. These days everyone has an opinion about everything and sometimes it can be difficult to manage that on top of pregnancy. This leads many women in the public eye to not show off their pregnancy, or until their child arrives. One woman who did in recent years is Halle Bailey.

For months on end, The Little Mermaid actress was ripped apart by the media with invasive questions like “Is she faking pregnancy?” “Is she just fat” “Who’s the father?” “Why won’t she tell us?” Then, when she did have the baby and chose to keep his face private, people were still very upset. It’s a new level of entitlement to the lives of others that has started to make celebrities really uncomfortable.
Daddario explained that her castmates of AMC’s Mayfair Witches in New Orleans quickly started to catch on. She told Vogue “I was on set, and I was throwing up and having make-out scenes with my costars right after, by week five, I was like, there’s no way I’m going to be able to hide this.” Though Daddario is ecstatic to begin a new chapter of her life, the actress did experience some anxiety around her pregnancy.

She alluded to a miscarriage, telling Vogue “I had loss. Those kinds of losses and trauma are very hard to explain unless you’ve been through them. I really relate to all the women who have been through those kinds of things in a way that I didn’t understand fully before. It’s very, very painful.” Finding out about this new pregnancy, of course, she was excited. However, the Texas Chainsaw actress was also nervous about losing another baby. So, she involved herself in her work. It helped her get out of her own head of worries and helped her be in a healthier state of mind as well as the baby.
