Billie Eilish Is the Surprise Feature on Charli xcx’s Remix of ‘Guess’
Charli xcx teased yet another remix off of her latest album, brat. This time around, the pop star featured Billie Eilish.
Charli xcx has cultivated one of the most memorable summers yet with her latest album, brat. Full of fun and flirty, yet emotionally impactful songs, the artist has broken numerous records in the newest milestone of her decade-spanning career. Now, the singer keeps fans “guessing” who will be the next artist to feature on her compilation of remixes for the album, with Billie Eilish added to the list.
The “365” singer has already released several remixes with other artists, such as the “Girl, so confusing” remix with Lorde. Some of the artists include Addison Rae, Robyn, Yung Lean, and Aminé. This time around, the announcement of a remix took fans by surprise, with the singer posting a secretive cover that did not reveal any faces. However, eagle-eyed fans recognized Eilish’s body and rings immediately.
Fast forward to August 1 and the “Von dutch” singer posted another video to her Instagram announcing that the song would officially release at 6 p.m EST. The caption finally reveals Eilish as the featured artist while the video depicts the pair lying down in a pile of bras. The aesthetic of the video was tailored to the lyrics of the song, with underwear alluding to “You wanna guess the color of my underwear?”
The remix incorporates more house club beats, staying true to the “club classics’ vibe the “Apple” singer has played at past DJ sets. Eilish is known for her softer voice, but against the crisp and magnetic hyper-pop Charli xcx provides, the two mesh well together. The “LUNCH” singer even shows off her more flirty side on the track, singing “Charli likes boys but she knows I’d hit it / Charli call me, if you’re with it.” Recently, the artist has been more vocal about her sexuality, with “Guess” being the perfect track to explore that new side.
