In addition, the season will enlist Elliott Kalan, best known for his work on Mystery Science Theater 3000, as a writer and producer. The TV series originates from Sony Pictures Animation. In addition, Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman, who co-wrote the recent Ghostbusters films, serve as executive producers. Furthermore, the series will be 3D animated, the first in the franchise’s history. The previous two animated seasons, The Real Ghostbusters, and Extreme Ghostbusters, were 2D animated. In fact, they were instrumental in keeping the franchise alive on the small screen. However, we will see whether this new series will live up to that reputation.

Ghostbusters originated in 1984 from director Ivan Reitman and quickly became a hit phenomenon through a unique mix of comedy, action, and horror. However, following a sequel and the aforementioned TV series, the franchise went quiet for several decades. That is until an all-female reboot of Ghostbusters was released in 2016. Five years later, Jason Reitman released Ghostbusters: Afterlife. This marked the start of a new sequel season starring Paul Rudd(Ant-Man), Finn Wolfhard(Stranger Things), and Mckenna Grace(Crater), which continued with this year’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
However, following the disappointment of the film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the franchise once again pivots to TV to survive. The new series arrives on Netflix on an unspecified date, in the meantime, you can watch the 1986’s The Real Ghostbusters on Amazon Prime.
