Dancing With the Stars Names Ezra Sosa as the Series’ New Pro
Just a day before the official cast reveal, Dancing With the Stars named Ezra Sosa the newest addition to the coveted pro lineup.
“It hasn’t hit me yet,” he told GLAAD, who helped break the news. “When I got the call I was honestly in a state of shock.”
The professional dancer has been a part of the series since 2021. He and Sofia Ghavami were brought on as extra troupe dancers — and were also the series’ first Hispanic professional cast members.

Since 2021, Sosa remained on the troupe and even filled in last season when Charity Lawson’s partner caught COVID. The former Bachelorette, amongst many other professionals and celebrity contestants, sang Sosa’s praises in the comments.
“I can’t wait to come and see you shine!!! You are THE most deserving, and whoever you are paired with I just know they are in for the best time of their life. LOVE YOU. Our cha cha still lives rent-free in my mind,” she stated.
Sosa calls this a dream come true and dedicates his first season to his village.
“This first season as a pro isn’t just for me, it’s for all of you who helped me get there… And to the little boy who would sit wide-eyed in front of the TV, watching Dancing With the Stars, dreaming of one day taking that stage… this is your moment. Your dreams have finally come true,” he wrote on Instagram.
The dancer’s casting comes as no shock to fans. He has been someone fans have hoped to see since his first television appearance on season 16 of So You Think You Can Dance, alongside his sister Stephani Sosa.
After last season’s addition of Rylee Arnold, fans have petitioned to see more Gen-Z pros in the lineup. Not only, is Sosa a younger pro representing the Hispanic community, but is also representing the LGBTQ+.
Although representing the community is an honor for the dancer, it’s something he doesn’t take lightly.
“When I first joined the show, I had a huge sense of imposter syndrome because at the time, I wasn’t out… and it wasn’t until this year when I realized the power, the power of being fruity and the power of just truly just being yourself,” he stated.
Sosa and the rest of the pros’ partners are under wraps until tomorrow’s reveal on Good Morning America at 8:00 A.M.
