Following her endorsement of Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump publicly stated that he hates Taylor Swift in a Truth Social post from September 15. But as more performers speak out on political issues, his hatred might extend further.

On September 11, minutes after the conclusion of the presidential debate, Swift posted a long statement supporting VP Harris. In the past, the singer’s political social media posts have resulted in massive surges in voter registration. The famous loyalty of her fans makes her a difficult figure to contest in the realm of endorsements, and this move to support Harris could sway the polls in her favor. Swift and Trump have had an ongoing feud, picking up recently with Trump’s VP pick, JD Vance, calling the singer “fundamentally disconnected” and a “childless cat lady.”

The Truth Social post was followed by yet another assassination attempt on the former President. The internet wasted no time in joking that Swifties were the culprits due to the proximity of the attempt and Swift’s post. The “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” comment, along with many of Trump’s other recent statements, has already been worked into memes by younger audiences. Some even compare this outburst to Regina George’s impulsive additions to the burn book in Mean Girls.

The singer is creating a chain reaction of endorsements with Billie Eilish and Finneas following suit. In a post for National Voter Registration Day, the sibling duo stated, “We are voting for Kamala Harris and  Tim Waltz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy.” Continuing to mention, “We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedom, and our future.” The pair also mentioned Project 2025 as a pressing concern that is pushing them to choose Harris in the upcoming election.

Both artists highlighted concerns about reproductive rights and registering to vote as soon as possible. To learn more about how to vote here, and check your voting status here.
