Charli D’Amelio will be joining the cast of the jukebox musical & Juliet on Broadway in the infamous Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The TikTok star took to her social media to announce the news of her upcoming appearance.

TikTok sensation Charli D’Amelio has confirmed that she will take part in & Juliet on Broadway. She will begin on October 29 and continue until January 19 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

D’Amelio took to her Instagram to unveil the news. She wrote, “this has been my ultimate dream ever since i was a little girl, but it always felt like something i could only admire from a distance, never imagining i’d actually get to be part of it.”

The rise of Charli D’Amelio began in 2019 by posting on the social media platform TikTok, sharing dance and lip-synching videos. After gaining popularity, she started collaborating with other fellow content creators, such as Addison Rae and Avani Gregg. She has achieved many milestones, such as having a drink named after her at Dunkin’ and attaining her own TV series on the streaming platform Hulu, called The D’Amelio Show, alongside her family members.

However, she has recently entered a new era in performance. Not only did she win season 31 of Dancing With The Stars alongside partner Mark Ballas, but she has officially announced her part in the ensemble of the cast of & Juliet. Charli D’Amelio is expected to play Charmian, described as a “dance-heavy role” by Playbill.

The musical has previously received nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The play rewrites an alternate ending to the historical story of Romeo and Juliet, in which Juliet stays alive and does not end her life for Romeo. It was created by David West Read, the same Canadian writer for the television series Schitt’s Creek. In this coming-of-age production, the soundtrack consists of popular throwback hits dating all the way to 30 years ago from Max Martin, a Swedish producer and songwriter. Songs like “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, and “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry are all featured in the Broadway musical.
