Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on Alex Cooper’s wildly popular podcast, Call Her Daddy to discuss her personal journey and, notably, reproductive rights. With Election Day fast approaching, Harris is pulling out all the stops, her latest campaign strategy includes joining the “Daddy Gang.”

Cooper’s Call Her Daddy is among the top popular podcasts in the U.S., ranked as the fourth biggest across all platforms in the U.S. According to Forbes, it was Spotify’s second most listened-to podcast and the top choice among women listeners.

However, politics is a new direction for the podcast.

Cooper explained that her decision to feature the Vice President stemmed from her own commitment to women’s reproductive rights. She expressed that, with the upcoming election spotlighting such a crucial issue, she felt compelled to join the conversation. Cooper also revealed that she had extended an invitation to former President Donald Trump, seeking a balanced discussion.

“I couldn’t see a world in which one of the main conversations in this election is women and I’m not a part of it,” she said. “I am so aware I have a very mixed audience when it comes to politics, so please hear me when I say that my goal today is not to change your political affiliation. What I’m hoping is that you’re able to listen to a conversation that isn’t too different from the ones that we’re having here every week.”

With reproductive rights at the forefront, the Vice President seized the opportunity to address reproductive rights directly, warning voters not to trust Trump’s claims of supporting women’s rights.

“So, he who, when he was president, hand-selected three members of the United States Supreme Court with the intention that they would undo the protections of Roe v. Wade. And they did just as he intended. And there are now 20 states with Trump abortion bans, including bans that make no exception for rape or incest, which we just discussed.” Harris stated. “This is the same guy who said that women should be punished for having abortions? This is the same guy who uses the kind of language he does to describe women?”

Harris’s appearance on Call Her Daddy has sparked conversation online, with many users suggesting it was a more effective way to reach voters than traditional media outlets.
