This announcement follows the artist’s recent success with her third album, MEGAN, which reached number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Album Chart. Her singles “Cobra,” “HISS,” “BOA,” and the bilingual track “Mamushi,” featuring Japanese rap artist Yuki Chiba, have all contributed to her rising fame. She also completed a North American tour, performing alongside female rappers Erica Banks and Glorilla.

The artist first broke into the scene in 2019 with hits like “Cash Shit” and “Hot Girl Summer,” the latter reaching No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2020, she scored her first No. 1 hit. However, Megan’s rise to stardom hasn’t been without challenges. In July of that year, she was shot in the foot following an altercation with fellow rapper Tory Lanez after a house party in Hollywood Hills. According to Forbes, Lanez allegedly shouted, “Dance, b***!”* before shooting at her feet. Last August, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. While Megan has faced backlash from some male rappers, including Drake, 21 Savage, and 50 Cent, she has also received support from prominent female figures like Janelle Monae and Halle Berry.

Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words will be released on Prime Video on October 31, giving fans an intimate look at the rapper’s life and career.
