Marvel Studios Releases Exclusive Look At New Projects
Marvel Studios gives fans a special look at the slate of upcoming projects releasing later this year and next, from limited live-action to animated series.
Marvel Studios teased a new era arriving next year for fans: a focus on “Marvel Television.” While several films are in the works and received tentative release dates, Marvel is emphasizing their stories through limited series. Several of the new series will be live-action, with some familiar faces returning, and others will be animated adventures following several titular names in the Marvel universe.
First, the trailer starts off with Deadpool talking to the TVA. What fans thought was a teaser for the release date of Deadpool And Wolverine on Disney+ actually turned into a teaser for their new television era. The television in the trailer started playing snippets of the upcoming series, starting with DareDevil: Born Again. Lawyer by day, superhero by night, Matt Murdock makes his epic return, this time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With surprise appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk, and most recently Echo, the blind superhero is here to continue his story of crime fighting in H*ll’s Kitchen. Charlie Cox returns to the role of Matt Murdock, with Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onofrio also reprising their roles as the Punisher and Kingpin. The snippet also features the lawyer’s iconic answer when asked “Exactly what kind of lawyer are you?” to which he responds, “A really good one.” The series arrives in March 2025.
Next, the teaser moves onto Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and features the wall-crawler fighting crime while still navigating the pitfalls of being a superhero. The animated series follows Spidey and his friends, as well as street villains in a comic book panel format.
Another new animated series featured is Marvel Zombies. The series follows the last few surviving heroes (and villains) of a post-apocalyptic world where they have to fight their fellow fallen friends amongst a spreading zombie scourge. Spider-Man’s series arrives January 25, while Marvel Zombies is set for an October 2025 release date.
In addition to those animated series, the Emmy-winning series What If?… will also be receiving a season three. An immersive tale rooted in the question “what if?” the series follows important storylines and the outcomes if the timeline had shifted.
Lastly, Eyes of Wakanda is the final animated series arriving on the streaming platform next year. The series will explore the history of Wakanda and its protectors, the Black Panthers, facing ethical dilemmas. What If?… arrives this year on December 22, with Eyes of Wakanda arriving August 2025.
Two more live-action series will be premiering next year, IronHeart and Wonder Man. Following RiRi Williams, the genius inventor featured in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as she creates her own powerful suit to fight for justice as the heroine Ironheart. Dominique Thorne will be reprising her role, with Anthony Ramos portraying Parker Robbins aka the Hood.
Skilled in firearms, he teases a dark path ahead. “Anyone who’s ever accomplished anything iconic in life has had to do some questionable things to get it done,” he states in the trailer. The series debuts June 2025.
As for Wonder Man, the series does not follow the comic storyline. Simon Williams, portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman) is seen auditioning for the role of “Wonder Man” instead. While little plot details are revealed, Williams receives help from Trevor Slattery. Portrayed by Ben Kingsley, he is a washed-up actor, previously starring in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi as an actor hired to play “the Mandarin.” This series is last to debut on the platform, with a December 2025 release date.
Until then, prepare for the new era of Marvel Television by streaming Deadpool And Wolverine exclusively on Disney+ starting November 12.
