Rachel Chinouriri Shares Personal Growth at Sold Out London Show
Rachel Chinouriri became emotional while reflecting on her reflects on self-growth, reminiscing on the days she wrote her song, “I Hate Myself,” on her last day of a sold-out tour.
Rachel Chinouriri reassured her fans that she was “really happy.” The 26-year-old Indie singer-songwriter was candid with the audience after explaining the importance of her song “I Hate Myself.” The song was performed at the last sold-out show of her UK tour, and she states that it was written eight to ten years before her debut as an artist.
She wiped her tears with a black towel, exclaiming to the crowd, “I know I look sad, but I’m actually really happy. I think I wanted to say how, well, on this tour is the first time I sang ‘I Hate Myself,’ and I think a message I want to give to you guys is I’m 26 now, and I probably felt like that when I was like 16 or 18 or something. And I was so hard on myself, and I really hated who I was and the skin I was in and the person I was, and now I’m older, and I love myself,” revealed the singer. “I want anyone in this crowd who might care about how they look, what size they are, their gender, their identity, their sexuality, whatever you are. Anytime you feel like you hate yourself, it’s the pressure of other people who make you feel like that and other people don’t matter.”

She added, “And a quote I got told, which I stuck by, was, ‘Everyone’s a nobody until you love them, and if someone who doesn’t have love in them that you have for them, what they say doesn’t matter about you.’ And I just want you to always remember that if you’ve ever felt a societal pressure of anything that it only matters what the people around you feel like and how much they love you cuz that’s all that really matters.”
After the concert, Chinouriri took to Instagram to describe the last concert, which landed on a Saturday, as “everything.” She also reminded fans in her Instagram caption, “The best tour of my life is officially over, but darlings, we know what that means… Next stop, Sabrina.”
Rachel Chinouriri will be an opening act for Sabrina Carpenter, joining the “Espresso” singer on her Short n’ Sweet tour for the UK and European dates.
