Orville Peck to Join Cabaret as Emcee on Broadway

Orville Peck will make his Broadway debut as Emcee on Broadway’s Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.

The country singer announced Wednesday morning through Instagram that he is set to begin March 31.

Alongside Peck, Tony-nominated actress Eva Noblezada will join him as Sally Bowles for the 16-week run lasting until June 20.

The star released his third studio album, Stampede in 2024, and a North American tour to follow the album. The tour would be his first after having postponed the remainder of his 2023 tour due to mental and physical health concerns. Stampede brought new country flare to the scene as he featured songs with pop icons such as Elton John and country legend Willie Nelson.

Since the musical’s revival, it has gained multiple nominations and even won a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Musical the same year it was revived.

Peck is no stranger to acting. Before the country star’s successful debut album Pony in 2019, he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to train as an actor in 2014. He later on went to star as Peter in the London play Peter Pan Goes Wrong in 2016.

“I grew up as an actor and doing theater, and for a lot of people this is a really coveted role in musical theater because it’s so open to interpretation and an incredible character,” he told Variety

Peck joins the notable roster of stars who have played Emcee since the musical’s Broadway debut in 1966. Singer Adam Lambert currently plays the role of Emcee, holding the role since September 2024. His final performance is set for March 29. Eddie Redmayne starred as Emcee when the musical was revived in 2024.

Fans excited about the news are left wondering if Peck’s signature mask will remain on or off as he takes on the role of Emcee.

Producers of the show have not commented regarding whether the mask will stay on or off.

“I will say this – people will have to buy a ticket to find out,” he teased.
