Rachael Kirkconnell Puts Rumors to Bed on Social Media About Her Painful Breakup
Rachael Kirkconnell shuts down rumors about a reunion with former bachelor and current ex-boyfriend Matt James.
The couple started dating in 2021 after season 25 of The Bachelor. While the pair didn’t get engaged, they decided to remain a couple. In January, the former bachelor publicly announced their breakup on Instagram.
He stated, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.”
Shortly after, the celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi sent a tip that read, “Just left my apartment in kips bay and walked past Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell.” Soon after the post, Kirkconnell responded, “hmm wasn’t me lol,” shutting down the rumor.
Ever since James announced their breakup via Instagram, Kirkconnell has remained silent. However, she implied that she was blindsided by their split by liking a comment made by a fan.
A fan commented, “The more I’m thinking about it the more I think he completely blindsided her with this. Give her some grace and let her respond in her own time.”
Fans began to speculate about their relationship due to James posting a seemingly normal video of the pair getting pizza in London. He posted the video just a day before the breakup. Meanwhile, a month before the split, she posted for her boyfriend’s birthday on Instagram.
She shared, “Happiest of birthdays to my best friend, my teammate, my sous chef, the man that has my whole heart, to many more adventures, happy birthday my pumpkin.”
The couple initially split years prior due to resurfaced videos of Kirkconnell in college. These videos featured her attending an antebellum-themed party. With James being the first African American Bachelor, this sparked controversy. Rachael issued an apology, stating “My ignorance was racist.” Shortly after, the couple got back together.
