Rachael Kirkconnell opened up about her split from Matt James right before the release of her Call Her Daddy tell-all. In a video posted by Deuxmoi, the Bachelor star gave her first public comment regarding their breakup.

Matt James broke the news with a prayer, stating, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.”

Kirkconnell maintained her privacy by only offering low-key comments and refusing to answer all questions. “I think things will start to come out, and I’ll speak about it whenever I’m ready, but for now I’m just protecting my peace,” mentioned the star. While refusing to state what transpired between the duo, she did confirm that infidelity was not the cause of their split; however, she denied any chance of the couple getting back together.

The couple first met during season 25 of The Bachelor, in which James was the star. While the two ended the season together, they opted not to get engaged but rather continue their relationship as it was. This didn’t last long, as it was revealed that the couple called things off soon after wrapping their season. In April 2021, the two found their way back to each other, thus beginning their four-year romance.

It was announced on January 27 that Kirkconnell would appear on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast for an exclusive tell-all interview. The podcast episode, “Rachael Kirkconnell: I Was Blindsided,” runs nearly two hours and gives a deep insight into the star’s experience.

Fans can tune in on January 28 on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Podcasts to hear all the drama surrounding the breakup.
