Apple TV+ selected Mark Strong as the newest member of the cast for the upcoming 10-episode adaptation of William Gibson’s novel, Neuromancer.

Strong joins Callum Turner and Briana Middleton as the latest addition to the Neuromancer cast.

According to Apple TV+ Press: “The series will follow a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.”

Strong will portray Armitage in the series. The project was first announced in February 2024.

Strong is best known for his roles in popular films, including the Kingsman franchise, Sherlock Holmes, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and more. Some of his more recent television projects include Dune: Prophecy and The Penguin.

Graham Roland and JD Dillard are co-creators of the series. Roland will serve as the showrunner for the series, while Dillard is directing the pilot episode.

Roland has produced other successful projects, such as Dark Winds, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Mile 22, and Fringe. Some of Dillard’s most popular projects include Devotion, Sleight, The Outsider, and more.

Roland and Dillard are also executive producers of the series, alongside Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell, DreamCrew Entertainment’s Adel “Future” Nur, Drake, and Jason Shrier; as well as Anonymous Content, Zack Hayden, and William Gibson.

The series is a co-production between Apple Studios, Skydance Television, and Anonymous Content, with additional production by DreamCrew Entertainment.

Neuromancer, released in 1984, was Gibson’s debut novel and a major success, earning several prestigious awards.

Gibson later published two additional books to complete his Sprawl trilogy: Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. All three novels are set within the same time period.

Gibson is also the author of other notable books, including The Peripheral, Zero History, and Spook Country.

A release date for the series hasn’t been announced yet.
