Travis Kelce might have some bad blood as Swifties react to the football player calling it “an honor” to have President Trump at the upcoming Super Bowl.

During a press conference, Kelce was asked about his thoughts on the White House’s recent announcements regarding Trump’s Super Bowl attendance (making him the first sitting president to do so). Kelce’s response was positive.

“No matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life,” the athlete stated.

“It’s a great honor,” he added. “Having the president there — it’s the best country in the world — and that’s pretty cool.”

The football star’s remarks follow Trump’s criticism of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, after she endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift wrote on Instagram last September. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

On September 11, the day after the 35-year-old singer announced her support for the Democratic candidate, President Trump expressed his disapproval in an interview with Fox & Friends, stating that he “was not a fan of Taylor Swift.”

He added, “It was just a question of time… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Shortly after his Fox & Friends appearance, he also posted on his Truth Social account, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Along with President Trump attending the Super Bowl on February 9, Kelce’s brother, Jason, told PEOPLE that Swift will also be at the Caesars Superdome to cheer on her boyfriend.

“Everybody’s coming in,” he commented. “I mean, I don’t want to speak for everybody, but I think obviously, our whole family. I believe, obviously Trav and Taylor, and his family and his friends. I mean, Trav always travels, like, full.”

The Super Bowl airs February 9 on FOX.
