Adam Brody adorably shouted out his wife, Leighton Meester, at this year’s Critics Choice Awards. The actor took home the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Noah in the Netflix hit, Nobody Wants This.

After a tight embrace with the fellow actress, Brody accepted the award, thanking the cast, co-star Kristen Bell, the crew, and his team. He ended his speech by acknowledging Meester, his wife of 10 years.

“My darling, darling, darling wife, Leighton. Thank you, Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. I love you with all my heart. Thank you so much,” he stated.

Looking visibly choked up, the actress blew him a kiss and was evidently happy about his win. During commercial breaks, the pair was seen sharing a number of sweet moments. Of course, fans took to socials, reacting to the pair.

One user commented, “Everybody wants this,” while another upped the ante, writing, “Everybody needs this.”

This was also the first public appearance from the couple after their home was unfortunately burned down in the Los Angeles fires.

The series, loosely based on creator Erin Foster’s life, follows Joanna (Bell) a podcast host a la Call Her Daddy, who meets Noah (Brody), a Rabbi, at a house party, The unexpected pair hit it off for a slow-burn that is straight out of a 2000s rom-com. Nobody Wants This was one of the breakout series of 2024. Accumulating over 15 million streams in its first week and becoming the most-watched series on Netflix during its debut, it was a no-brainer to pick up the title for a second season.

Since its debut, fans have dubbed it the “Adam Brody renaissance,” anticipating the actor’s long-overdue return to the mainstream. Like his wife, Brody starred in an era-defining teen drama—The O.C., often considered the West Coast counterpart to Gossip Girl, where Meester notably starred. While the couple isn’t rushing to channel Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf, the nostalgic connection is a fun one.

Season 1 of Nobody Wants This is available to stream on Netflix.
