The jury acquitted the rapper of all counts related to firing a semi-automatic handgun at former friend and A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli. The case stemmed from a November 2021 altercation between the two artists, after which Relli filed a police report.

According to Relli’s testimony, the two met up at a Hollywood hotel and engaged in a scuffle leading to Rocky firing shots at Relli, grazing his knuckles. Mutual friend A$AP Twelvyy testified during the trial, explaining that Relli was the aggressor and that Rocky fired warning shots in response. Twelvyy also added that Rocky had carried the firearm around for months as protection and only used it to fire blanks.

Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, argued that the gun was a prop used for protection against potential threats. Tacopina then depicted Relli as a man seeking profit pushing a fabricated narrative.

Before the jury announced their verdict each member agreed that the ruling was their individual decided outcome. The judge also thanked the jury and explained  that “we cannot have jury trials without you folk.”

Meanwhile after Rocky listened to the verdict he expressed his gratitude by claiming  “Thank Y’all for Saving my life. Thank Y’all for making the right decision.” Immediately after, he leapt into the stands to hug his mother, sister, and partner, Rihanna, before returning to hug Tacopina.

Rhianna expressed her appreciation for the jury on her Instagram story later that day by writing  “The glory belongs to god and god alone.”

“Thankful, humbled by his mercy!” the pop superstar added.

After walking out of the courthouse, Rocky expressed his gratitude for the jury one final time, stating, “I’m really thankful for the jury for making a great decision.” He also jokingly praised Tacopina by calling him A$AP Joe. With the threat of serving jail time behind him Rocky will look to spend more time as a loving husband to his companion Rihanna and father with his two kids RZA and Riot.
