Suits LA – Where Ambition Meets Heart on the West Coast

Fans are speculating whether Suits LA will capture the magic of its predecessor as the new spinoff brings the legal drama to the West Coast.

Suits first aired in 2011 and quickly became one of the most-watched drama series of its time. The series’ combination of witty banter, and high-stakes courtroom battles helped it stand out in the legal drama genre. After Suits earned the title of the “most-streamed show of 2023,” on Netflix and Peacock, the network greenlit the spinoff series.

While the original Suits focused on the cutthroat world of corporate law in New York City, Suits LA will shift its focus to an entertainment law firm. Another notable difference is the shift in character dynamics. In the original, the main character is a fake lawyer practicing law named Micheal Ross. Micheal Ross, portrayed by actor Patrick J. Adams, delivers a heartfelt performance that captured the hearts of many. It is still unknown whether he will make an appearance in the new spinoff.

With this in mind, Suits LA follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a prosecutor who uproots his life in the Big Apple to practice in a sunnier place, as he tries to escape his dark past. The announcement revealed that a new trio will join Ted Black on the big screen

Lex Scott Davis will portray Erica Rollins, an ambitious lawyer striving for a promotion, while Josh McDermitt will star as Black’s close friend and firm partner, Stuart Lane. The final addition to the series is Rick Dodson, embodied by Bryan Greenberg, a driven attorney jockeying for power. Fans were thrilled to hear that Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter will make a much-anticipated cameo alongside the new characters.
