Rachael Kirkconnell Makes New Lighthearted Joke Regarding Painful Breakup

Rachael Kirkconnell poked fun at her ex boyfriend Matt James on social media.

The couple started dating in 2021 after season 25 of The Bachelor. While the pair didn’t get engaged, they decided to remain a couple. As of January, former bachelor Matt James ended his four year relationship with Rachael Kirkconnell.

Meanwhile, Rachael referenced her breakup through an Instagram post while partnering with the cleaning brand Brawny. While making a homemade pizza, she commented,  “Even though I don’t have to worry about picking out the perfect dinner spot anymore, life can still get messy.” Shortly after, the marinara sauce spilled over the counter. Kirkconnell stated, “But now, I have someone I can always depend on,” shooting a subtle smile at the camera “someone strong and reliable, too.” She ends the video with “no matter what surprises come her way, Brawny’s always gonna be there.” We can assume this comment is a subtle jab at her ex.

Additionally, Kirkconnell guest starred on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.  During the interview, the influencer revealed that James announced their breakup just three hours after they split, while she was still on a flight returning to the U.S. from Tokyo. “I just couldn’t believe it, going to the airport,” the model stated. “I was like, ‘What the hell is happening?’ I’m freaking out. Just got broken up with and now, few hours later, it’s like for the whole world to see.”

During the podcast Kirkconnell reflected on her breakup. “He just didn’t want me to end up resenting him by wasting more of my time if it wouldn’t happen,” she told Cooper. “He just said, ‘You’re beautiful, smart, and funny, and you’ll find someone. You’ll find a guy that will love you for you.’ But he just didn’t think that it was him.”
