Meghan Markle Reveals Name Change in New Netflix Series
Meghan Markle, the American actress who married into royalty in 2018, has launched her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. The series follows her and her friends as they share cooking tips and life advice.
She created the series to express her love for cooking, gardening, and hosting — also featuring a special guest each episode.
As someone who eats plantain chips religiously -screams in latina- I can tell you that Meghan peels and chop them like a pro! It’s an skilled work that takes time to master even for many latinos. #WithLoveMeghan pic.twitter.com/OygHXGiY15— Julieth ❀ (@troubleshade) March 5, 2025
Guests include: Celebrity Chef Roy Choi, American actress and former costar of the Duchess on the series Suits, Abigail Spencer, and plenty more.
The Office actress Mindy Kaling made an appearance in episode two, “Welcome to the Party.” The two have been friends since Kaling guest-starred on her podcast Archetypes in 2022.
As the two planned a “kid-friendly tea party,” Kaling refers to the Duchess as “Markle.”
“You know it’s Sussex now. You have kids and you go, I share my name with my children. I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name. Our little family now,” she corrects Kaling.
The Duchess now values sharing her family’s last name, a sentiment that grew after having two children. Initially indifferent, she now sees deep meaning in the change, which she discusses in People Magazine.
“It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children,” she states. “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H, and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
The Duchess also cherishes the name, as it was bestowed upon her by the late Queen Elizabeth II. With family as the driving force behind the change, she believes it’s time for the world to embrace it.
With Love, Meghan is available now on Netflix.
