The royal couple has a friendly rivalry going on when it comes to rugby. The Prince of Wales is a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, while the Princess of Wales is a patron of England’s Rugby Football Union.
Before the match begins, they will visit the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite in the stadium to meet injured rugby players and their families. The players are supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, of which Prince William is a patron of.

The trust’s mission is to support rugby players who were severely injured playing rugby, as well as their families. It formed in 1972, and injured players are invited to attend each of the Welsh team’s home games.
The Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend the match in 2024 as Middleton was recovering from abdominal surgery. It was later revealed in a video message that she had cancer, and was undergoing treatment.
In September of last year, Middleton announced that she finished chemotherapy. This January, she revealed that she was in remission.

The last time they attended a rugby match was in 2023, where England defeated Wales 20-10. England also won the previous year, and the couple brought their son, Prince George, to watch the match.
This event comes after the Prince and Princess attended the Commonwealth Day Service on March 10. King Charles and Queen Camilla were also in attendance. It was Middleton’s first time at the event since 2023.
