She’s creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky, and most of all, Wednesday Addams is heading back to Nevermore Academy. Netflix dropped the trailer for season 2 of its gothic mystery drama, Wednesday.

Two and a half years after the series premiered in 2022, the second season of Wednesday will be released in two parts. Part 1 will air on August 6, and Part 2 will follow a month later on September 3. Each part will consist of four episodes.

Based on the characters from Charles Addams’s The Addams Family, the series follows daughter Wednesday Addams’ (Jenna Ortega) adventures at Nevermore Academy, a private boarding school for outcasts like herself. According to her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), this is a big first since this is the first time Wednesday has willingly returned to a school or been allowed back.

Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are excited to bring a new mystery for teen detective Wednesday to solve, with the help of her psychic powers, of course.

The sophomore season will feature more chaos, twisted horror, and a new nightmare for Wednesday: her family. Little brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) will join her at Nevemore Academy. Likewise, Morticia and their father, Gomez Addams (Luis Guzman) have been upgraded to series regulars for Wednesday season 2.

Also returning is Wednesday’s lupine roommate and best friend, Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), who can also be spotted in the trailer. She’s hard to miss, really, with her cotton candy hair and smile that stretches from sea to sea.

We also glimpse Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), locked up and looking a little crazy. For those who can’t recall, last season revealed that Tyler was a Hyde, the mutated monster responsible for many deaths that plagued Nevermore in the previous season. But will he stay locked up for long? Doubtful.

There was also Wednesday’s frenemy, Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday), who is using her siren powers, which we’ll hopefully see more of this season.

The trailer also gave fans their first look at two exciting new characters; Joanna Lumley has joined the cast as Hester Frump, Wednesday’s favorite grandmama and Morticia’s complicated mother.

Nevermore has been lacking a principal after their last one was, well, dead. Enter the great Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dot, who will bring a proud and electric energy to Nevermore.

Catch up on Wednesday before season 2 on Netflix.
