New Search For Missing Grandmother, Alisa Goods, In Las Vegas
A 63-year-old grandmother has been missing in Las Vegas for nearly two weeks, and her family is pleading for the public’s help to bring her home. Alisa Goods, a grandmother of five visiting from New York, was last seen on August 8, 2026, and her loved ones are asking anyone with information to come forward.
According to her family and a missing-person report filed with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Goods left the apartment where she was staying to take a bus to a nearby CVS to pick up her medication, and never returned. She does not drive, walks with a limp, and uses a cane. She was last seen near the 4900 block of South Maryland Parkway wearing black Adidas sweatpants and a blue denim jacket.
The Family’s Account of Alisa Goods’ Disappearance
Goods, who goes by “Lisa,” was in Las Vegas staying with a longtime friend she has known for years. He reported her missing on August 10, two days after she disappeared, under LVMPD case number LLV260800031980. Since then, her family has contacted hospitals, jails, and the coroner’s office, and her daughter has traveled to Las Vegas to search in person.
The situation grew more alarming days later, when relatives began receiving suspicious text messages from Goods’ phone requesting cash, gas money, and Bitcoin. The family found the messages deeply out of character, noting that Goods does not drive and would have no reason to ask for gas money. They now fear that someone else may have access to her phone.
A Family Frustrated With the Response
Goods’ niece, Alana Calloway, has been vocal about the family’s frustration with how the case has been handled. Calloway has told local outlets that when she reached an officer, she was informed her aunt did not meet the qualifications to be treated as a priority because she did not have a disability, a response the family found difficult to accept given the circumstances.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, for its part, has stated that the case remains active and ongoing. A department spokesperson noted to reporters that, based on the investigation so far, there is nothing to suggest Goods is in danger, and that the calls, texts, and Bitcoin requests the family received may be the result of “spoofing,” a scam tactic in which fraudsters disguise their identity. Police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
The case has so far received limited national attention, a gap that advocates note disproportionately affects missing Black women and other people of color. Organizations such as the Black and Missing Foundation have long worked to close that gap by amplifying cases that might otherwise go unnoticed.
