Troian Bellisario Gets Serious About The Environment
Stick up for what you believe in! Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario took a break from posting selfies and PLL promos to share her thoughts on the importance of protecting the environment in honor of World Environment Day.
The Instagram post’s caption is Troian’s reflection on countries that have been and are working toward increasing the use of clean energy sources: “But I will say that today I would like to CELEBRATE all of the countries, businesses and states that are choosing to step up in place of the US government and see not only our responsibility to the planet through but also see that clean energy provides jobs! Hey look at China and how much money they are going to make by investing in it!?!”
Like many others, it seems that Troian Bellisario is frustrated by the United States’ current stance on climate change. Like her character Spencer Hastings on Pretty Little Liars, Troian is strong, outspoken, and fearless, claiming, “I know a lot of people don’t like it when I post something political, but I swear I’ll post a selfie every day for a year if it means we can go back to being at least on a better path towards acknowledging and working to combat the effects of climate change. That’s all. Thank you for listening. I’ll go back to talking about #pll airing tomorrow.”
Sometimes it is beneficial to take a step back from the television shows, the fandom, and the gossip to celebrate what really matters to you, whether that be racial diversity, gender equality, or the environment.
