Logic Makes A Powerful Impact With VMA Performance
Logic brought out suicide survivors during his performance at the Video Music Awards.
Logic, Alessia Cara, and Khalid gave a powerful performance at the 2017 MTV VMA’s. During their performance of “1-800-273-8255,” suicide survivors lined the stage all sporting shirts that said the suicide prevention hotline number on the front (1-800-273-8255). The words “You are not alone” were scribed on the back of the shirts.
The lyrics to this song are inspiring by themselves, singing about how he wants to die today and how life can be so hard and slowly turning into “I don’t wanna die today.” Seeing suicide survivors on stage made the song that more inspirational. Some of the survivors got very emotional. At the end of the performance, the survivors all wanted to take selfies on the VMA stage with the artists. They looked like they were so happy to be there.
Even though people may be feeling alone, there are millions of people out there who are feeling the same way as you are. You truly are not alone.
