Matt Smith from ‘The Crown’ Says This Actress Should Play Meghan Markle
Netflix’s hit series follows the story of Queen Elizabeth II, who is played by Claire Foy.
As the story follows the history of the Queen of England up to current day, it will most likely cover critical pieces of her life- from her son Charles’ marriage and divorce, the death of her former daughter-in-law, Diana, and even the weddings of her grandsons, William and Harry.
With coverage of these momentous events comes the need for some serious good portrayals of Princess Kate and future princess Meghan Markle.
While Matt Smith (who plays Prince Phillip in the show) he had some thoughts about who is in line for the role of Markle. Smith will not be returning next season, as the show is trying to keep actors as close in age to the monarchs as possible.
“Who’s that singer… who goes out with Justin Bieber?” The former Doctor Who star searched for Selena’s name until Foy lent him a hand.
While it will be a couple more years until they need an actress lined up to play the fiance of Prince Harry, we don’t think Selena would mind rising to the challenge!
