Singer, songwriter, and queen Rihanna celebrated her 30th birthday on February 20.
Rihanna has taken the music industry by storm since her first album released in 2005. With that album, Music of the Sun, selling nearly two million copies, she came out of the gate on top. She emerged into a field of the industry dominated by men, serving as a confident role model for women with her soulful and meaningful music. Combined with her edgy pop star image, she has not only led fashion trends but she has also created them. She made pixie cuts and bright red hair a look, and they will never go out of style.
Many have taken to social media to commemorate the legends big day, including Rihanna herself. She shared a transformation photo comparison to her Instagram, explaining that the day was just as exciting for her as it is for her mother. Rihanna explains that she would not be the woman she was today without her, and thanks her for all of the help throughout the years.
She finished her post by proclaiming to her mother; “I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you.” Thank you for inspiring girls and women everywhere for over 10 years, and we can’t wait to see what you bring for us in coming years.
