Freeform/Aaron Poole

It’s a whole new Little Mermaid movie.

Lovers of The Little Mermaid will get another chance to get a glimpse into life under the sea in the new Disney remake. No details of the official release have been announced, but we do know some cast information.

The cast of the live-action movie includes some well known and not-so-well-known names. Prince Eric, the courageous king-to-be, will be played by somewhat Hollywood-scene newbie and British actor Jonah Hauer-King.

The Little Mermaid has been a Disney favorite since it came out Nov. 13, 1989. Its heartfelt tale of following your heart makes Ariel a beloved princess to many. The live-action remake will be directed by Rob Marshall and written by David Magee. The movie will use some songs from the original film, but will also include tunes by original composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Lin Miranda, the genius behind Hamilton.
