‘Dead to Me’ Announces Third and Final Season on Netflix

Netflix

Series creator, writer and executive producer, Liz Feldman, has announced the renewal and final season for Netflix’s hit dramedy, Dead to Me.

Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini and James Marsden will unite for one more season.

In the series’ first season, 30 million viewers met Jen and Judy, two unlikely women that needed each other’s friendship to get through their current grief. Jen, a recent widow and mother of two, learns the truth about Judy’s secret that she shares with her ex-fiancé, Steve. As the series continued to unfold, viewers were exposed to strong performances by cast members such as Steve’s mother (Frances Conroy, American Horror Story) and Judy’s mother, (Katy Sagal, Sons of Anarchy). Although filming for the final season has yet to be scheduled, fans could expect the final season to premiere on Netflix as early as 2021.

Feldman, who has writing credits for 2 Broke Girls, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Blue Collar TV, will continue working for Netflix after Dead to Me closes its final season.  In a statement released on July 6, Vice President of Comedy Series for Netflix, Jane Wiseman, said, “Liz Feldman is a comedic force who brings her fresh and distinct point of view to every element of the creative process from inception through writing and producing. We could not be more excited to expand our relationship with Liz and continue to work with her on ‘Dead to Me’ and future series to come.”
