President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s test results have shown they are positive for COVID-19.

America learned the news early Friday morning that President Trump and the first lady have tested positive for COVID-19.

The diagnosis of the president has reminded our country that this virus is a huge threat and can be passed to anyone and everyone.

Trump tweeted early Friday morning about his test results.

The infection of the two has revealed that the virus can be given to anyone and is in fact still present and very real. No one is safe until we all are safe together.

Based on the evidence from studies, we know now that a man of Trump’s age has a 3% chance of dying from COVID-19. Research also shows that 85-90% of those affected in this age group have no, mild, or minor illness.

A factor that comes into this diagnosis is that Trump could be considered obese for his age. This means that he could potentially have more complicated risks from the virus.

However, many who are infected by COVID-19 experience little to no symptoms. This even pertains to those who are older in age and heavier in weight.

The results of infections are all different, so it is impossible to predict how a particular individual could react to the infection.

Trump has not yet released any information in regards to his health, unlike previous presidents who have. His doctors have commented that he is in excellent health despite his age and weight.

Mark Meadows, White House chief of staff, commented on Friday that Trump “does have mild symptoms” of COVID-19.

The White House physician, Sean Conley, released a statement saying that “the president and first lady are both well at this time and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

Trump’s doctors have revealed that he takes medication to lower his cholesterol. No other health issues have been mentioned that could influence any complications.

Melania Trump is much younger at the age of 50. Because of this, she is not as high of a risk as her husband. She had undergone kidney surgery in 2018, but no other conditions are known for her to experience an increased risk of health.

She tweeted Friday afternoon about her status from the virus.

The Trump family and White House staff were routinely tested to prevent any outbreak within their circle. Their infection shows that routine tests may not be as effective as researchers thought would be.

“I think the news of the president’s and first lady’s positive tests show, unfortunately, that a regular testing program doesn’t guarantee safety,” Jennifer Nuzzo, senior scholar at Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, said in an email.

COVID-19 is a mysterious virus that is still unable to control. Continue to socially distance, wear masks, and wash hands. The President and First Lady are proof that this uncontrollable virus can infect anyone.

Despite all political views, we wish a successful recovery for both President Trump and the first lady.
