Here’s what we know so far about season two of the hit Netflix show Emily in Paris.

Emily in Paris hit Netflix this month and the show soon made its way onto the top ten must-watch list on Netflix. The show was created by Darren Star who also created Younger and Sex and the City. Fans couldn’t get enough of the love triangles, workplace drama, iconic fashion, and of course the city of Paris. The show left fans on the edge of their seats, as (spoiler alert) Emily was left to choose between Gabriel or Mathieu.

Star recently revealed in an interview conducted by Collider that Emily is going to have a lot of tough choices to make with a lot of men in the season ahead. The creator also noted the show hasn’t seen Emily and Mathieu’s relationship play out yet so there will be “surprising choices to make next season.”

The creator also sat down in an interview with E! News and dished out more details. In regard to Emily’s relationship with Gabriel, the creator explained, “I think they had a wonderful moment together, but what’s the intention? I don’t think Gabriel would have split with his girlfriend if he wasn’t moving away.” He noted that she’s in a very unexpected place, but is committed to “full steam ahead” regarding portraying her future love life in season two.

Camille Razat who plays Camille, a close friend of Emily and Gabriel’s girlfriend in the show, revealed to Collider that she thinks her character will be more upset with Emily rather than Gabriel if she finds out the truth behind Emily and Gabriel’s secret night they spent together. She was so nice and welcoming to her, but she predicts her character will only be mad for a short amount of time since she loves Emily, and she thinks Camille wants to stay friends with her.

It’s too early for an official release date of the second season. Since the show is filmed in Paris, there’s a chance they’ll be able to start filming a lot sooner since COVID-19 restrictions are different there than in the US. If the show gets a prompt renewal, it will be able to start production as soon as possible. Netflix usually releases a show’s second season one year after the original release date, which means there’s a chance season two of Emily in Paris could be released in October 2021 if it follows the normal schedule.

We can’t wait for season two and more updates to come on its pending release date, so until then we’ll still be unpacking Emily’s complicated love life and the cliffhanger that the show left off on.
