On Friday, Will Smith shared a trailer for the highly anticipated reunion of the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on his Instagram.

Smith has been teasing the reunion for over a year, and he finally gave fans a date to look forward to. The reunion will be streaming on HBO Max on November 19. The clip shows Smith arriving on the soundstage, stepping out of a car like he did when the show first premiered over thirty years ago in September 1990. The trailer gives a glimpse into what is sure to be a reunion full of trips down memory lane as the cast reminisces on the iconic sitcom.

Smith is joined by Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, and the rest of the main cast on a set built to look like the Banks’ family’s famous living room. Smith highlights the importance of the chemistry that the cast shared with one another. The positive vibes can be felt through the screen, as they look like a normal family just catching up. The cast share stories from behind the scenes and shared how they came into the roles that they played. In the trailer, there is a moment where they reflect on late actor James Avery who played Smith’s, Uncle Phil. Fans on Twitter shared stories of how the character touched their lives and how they, too viewed Uncle Phil as a father figure.

Another important character was the focus of reactions to the trailer on social media. Fans wanted to know if the ‘Original’ Aunt Viv would be making an appearance at the reunion. The change of the actress who played the matriarch of the Banks’ family from Janet Hubert-Whitten to Daphne Maxell Reed between seasons three and four, has always been a topic of discussion when talking about the show. Fans got their answers in the trailer. With only seconds left in the video, Smith announces that he could not do a Fresh Prince Reunion without Hubert-Whitten, and the rest of the cast looks surprised.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was one of the most influential shows of the ’90s. The Banks’ family was one of the few representations of Black excellence on tv at the time. The show followed in the footsteps of The Cosby Show by showing an educated, middle-/high-class Black family. You can enjoy all of the 90’s nostalgia by streaming the series on HBO MAX and by tuning in for the reunion on November 19.
