News broke earlier on Outer Banks filming a second season, but recently we uncovered some information giving more details as to what to expect in the second season. Madeline Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron sat down with Entertainment Tonight where she revealed there’s a micro time jump in the season. She assured fans that the cliffhanger at the end does get answered. She went on to explain, “I want people to watch this without knowing too much, I want people…going into it kind of blind but the stakes are higher and the mystery gets deeper.”

New characters will be joining the cast to add a twist to season 2. Elizabeth Mitchell, who you might recognize from Lost and Once Upon a Time will be joining our favorite Pogues as Limbrey in the season to come as revealed by Deadline.

The show began filming in late August so it will most likely be released this upcoming Summer a year after the original season premiered if it follows the normal Netflix schedule. Netflix also confirmed that the main cast will all be returning, so you won’t be missing any of your favorite characters in the season to come.

The season will pick back up where it left off with Sarah and John B fleeing to the Bahamas, and Kie, JJ, and Pope all back in the OBX. Madison Bailey, who stars as Kie recently interviewed with Seventeen Magazine where she revealed there will be a whole new dynamic to the season. She explained, “how do you go about life without your best friend…we’re going to have to come together and take care of each other now more than ever. But revenge is going to be on all of minds.”

We can expect to see some big changes coming this season filled with drama, revenge, adventure, and excitement. We can’t wait for an official release date to come, but the wait will definitely be worth it.
