Singer Taylor Swift selflessly donated to two moms struggling to pay their bills this year, and the recipients could not be more grateful.

The 2020 holiday season will be a difficult one for many, and Swift hopes to help out a few of those who are financially struggling. After coming across an article from The Washington Post about the millions of Americans in need this year, Swift decided to donate $13,000 (13 being her lucky number) to two different moms who are in a time of need.

One mom from Michigan, Shelbie Selewski, lost her job during the spring and struggled to find employment. She explained on her GoFundMe page that she needed to stay home with her “young daughter who was born with a collapsed lung right before Covid (Dec) and was hospitalized for two months after at Children’s.” Swift donated and wrote a message to the mother saying, “Shelbie, I’m sending you this gift after reading about you in the Washington Post. No one should have to feel the kind of stress that’s been put on you. I hope you and your beautiful family have a great holiday season. Love, Taylor.”

The second recipient is single mother Nikki Cornwell from Nashville, Tennessee. Cornwell shares her struggles with unemployment, recovering from COVID-19, and how she is $5,000 behind in her rent. She expressed her worries about not being able to provide a Christmas for her kids this year. Taylor made a generous donation of $13,000 and left Cornwell a thoughtful message as well. “Nikki, I read about you in the Washington Post and thought it was really brave of you to share your story,” she writes. “I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to go through this year and wanted to send you this gift, from one Nashville girl to another. Love, Taylor.”

We love how Swift continues to make generous donations to important charities and those in need and support these two moms just in time for the holidays this year.
