Zooey Deschanel and Will Ferrell Recreate Their Duet From ‘Elf’ During a Virtual Event

New Line Cinema

Watch actors Zooey Deschanel and Will Ferrell sing together again during a live-streamed table read of Elf.

Deschanel shared a clip of her singing “Baby It’s Cold Outside” with her former co-star Will Ferrell – also known as Buddy the Elf. Buddy and Deschanel’s character Jovie share this duet in the holiday film ‘Elf’ when Buddy overhears Jovie singing in the shower at work and can’t help but sing along.

The recreation of the classic scene was done during a recent live stream table read that was held to support the Democratic candidates of Georgia, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, before the Senate run-off elections that will be held in early January. Deschanel expressed how happy she was to take part in a unique, nostalgic, and super successful event.

“Thank you to everyone who joined the #ElfforGeorgia live stream!” she wrote in her caption. “So excited we were able to reach our goal of over $400k! Loved reuniting with the cast and all our very special guests 🥰.”

The donators to the Democratic Party of Georgia received access to this special virtual event. Along with Ferrell, Deschanel, and several original cast members, many other popular actors took place in the table read, including Ken Jeong, Ed Helms, Gaten Matarazzo, and Ashley Nicole Black. It was definitely a special event that was successful in raising money and awareness for an important political cause.
