Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s Relationship Is Still Thriving

Taylor Swift, known for her mysterious persona, strong voice, and incredulous lyrics, has kept her four-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, particularly private.

Recently it has been confirmed that Alwyn and Swift are still together. Not many pictures of the two exist. With an extremely quiet relationship, the two are not pictured on social media together.

Although on January 11, shown holding hands and walking together, they seem to be quite happy. This is the first known picture of the couple in over a year.

The romance between the two is shown elaborately through Swift’s 6th, 7th, and 8th studio albums. The songs seem to range from complete happiness to feeling the pain of knowing what it would be like if this person was gone. Many of these songs, like her past, were inspired by Swift’s relationship with Alwyn.

Under the pseudonym William Bowery, Joe Alwyn has become known for his lyrical help on Swift’s new albums, Folklore and Evermore. It was announced that he and Swift co-wrote “betty and “exile” from Folklore as well as, “evermore,” “champagne problems,” and “coney island” on Evermore. This became an announced shock when Swift collaborated with Disney+ on her Long Pond Studio Sessions.

Stemming from her teenage years under the consuming public eye, Swift had many of her previous relationships nitpicked. From magazines, music podcasts or even news hosts, Swift never seemed to catch a break.

It is no surprise that Swift wanted to keep this relationship under wraps. Due to her previous public image of being in a tremendous amount of relationships, fans assumed Swift was never able to feel true happiness with a significant other.

In Swift’s 2020 release of ‘Miss Americana’ on Netflix, she stated, “We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private. Even though it (her previous image) was really horrible, I was happy. But I wasn’t happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else’s input. We were just…happy.”

In a Capital FM interview for Swift’s 2019 album Lover, she stated they have been together since 2016, moving in together around 2019. Over quarantine, the two had created a co-existence of musicality together.

This magical relationship seems to be staying for the long haul. Perhaps their recent resurfacing of music and images together will be the beginning of a new era.
