Nominees Have Been Announced for the 78th Golden Globe Awards

On February 3, the Golden Globe Award nominees were announced by six-time Golden Globe winner Sarah Jessica Parker and Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson. 

Appearing on NBC News Today, Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson of Empire announced the nominees for the 78th Golden Globe Awards. They did this on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. 

Parker and Henson broadcasted the nominees virtually due to COVID-19, a first in the long-term history of the award show. The duo revealed a multitude of categories such as Best Television Series, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Best Director, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture.

The nominations bring another year of powerhouse films, a plethora of television shows, and showcases the talents of actors, actresses, and directors. The nominees will grapple with the talent and hard work that is across the spectrum of television and film.

The Golden Globes air live on NBC February 28 at 8:00 p.m. EST/5:00 p.m. PST. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host for the fourth time, kicking off the annual celebration. Fey will be featured in the Rainbow Room in New York, while Poehler will be broadcasted from Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The event will be three hours as nominees join from all over the globe.
