We know April 1 is all about jokes, but this is not a prank; there is an album in the works. Rodrigo broke records with her first single, Drivers License. The song was released January 8, 2021, and reached No.1 not even a week later. It became the most streamed song in over 48 countries and has been called the most dominant number one hit in history. Rodrigo is the youngest artist to ever debut at the top of the charts. Ever since the release of Drivers License, fans have been anticipating the release of her debut album.

The 17-year-old started getting attention for her starring role on Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She signed a record deal with Interscope Records in 2020 and began working on her musical career. Based on her record-breaking single “Drivers License,” we can only expect Rodrigo to keep breaking records with her music. In a tweet just hours after the release of “Deja Vu,” she announced that she has been working on her debut album. The album’s release date is set for May 21, 2021. Though, she has yet to release the album’s name or artwork.

Aside from releasing record-breaking music, Rodrigo has been filming season two of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which will hit the screen on May 14, 2021.
