Olivia Rodrigo’s Single ‘Drivers License’ Breaks Records Within A Week of Its Release
The seventeen-year-old actress and singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo, released her debut single, “Drivers License,” on January 8 and has since shattered streaming records on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
Fans worldwide have come to show Rodrigo support on her debut single, many calling her “mini Taylor Swift” because of the emotion her chart-topping song holds, gaining a comment from the Evermore singer herself.

Rodrigo’s success for her song has been commended by fans, celebrities, and brands alike. “Drivers License” became the most-streamed Spotify song in a day for a non-holiday song (coming in at 11.5 million Spotify streams on January 11) only to then be topped the next day with over 13 million streams. The song’s success is not only limited to Spotify as it has topped the Amazon Music chart, becoming the #1 most asked for song on Alexa globally, and become the most played song on Apple Music globally.

The teenage-heartbreak song has most notably become the fastest ranking song, but the most-streamed song within a week gaining a total of over 30.433 million Spotify streams in a single week. Fans rave about the music video’s aesthetics and palpable emotions, which when added to the heart-wrenching lyrics of the song, continues to play on a loop for many listeners.
