The Vampire Academy novels follow seventeen year old dhampir (half vampire, half human) girl named Rosemarie “Rose” Hathaway. Her best friend is of Moroi royalty named Vasilisa “Lissa” Dragomir. In this secret society, there are three types of vampires: the Moroi, Strigoi, and dhampirs. The Moroi are technically “alive,” having a soul, emotions, wielding one of the five elements (fire, water, earth, air, and spirit), can last a few days without blood, and can walk in the sun. Strigoi, on the other hand, have no soul or emotions, lost their magical abilities, have an unquenchable thirst for blood, and will evaporate in the sun. Dhampirs are stronger and faster than the Moroi, don’t need blood to survive, and can also walk in the sun. Due to their strength and speed, dhampirs are assigned a Moroi to protect after graduation.

Seven years ago, Vampire Academy was made into a movie. The movie was based on the first novel which centered around Rose Hathaway (played by Zoey Deutch). The movie stayed true to the first book, her trying to become a guardian at St. Vladimir’s Academy. However, the movie didn’t do very well. Fans hope the show will be better.
the #VAfamily has got to be one of the most loyal and strongest fandoms ever! 10 years we’ve waited and reread the series and hopped to get another movie or tv show and our wishing and hoping has finally come true! 🤩🙏 https://t.co/BqhrUcV5sq
