Jennifer Lopez is celebrating the 22nd anniversary of her debut album On the 6 which was released on June 1, 1999.

Lopez is a star when it comes to bringing out the ’90s and 2000s vibes. The “On the Floor” singer posted a video on Instagram celebrating the anniversary of the album. In the video, she expressed gratitude for being introduced to music at a young age.

“June 1st is always a happy day for me! ‘It was the day I released my debut album On The 6. ‘It changed my life forever… it’s taken me around the world and introduced me to the world of music and all of YOU,” Lopez stated on Instagram. In the video, J. Lo mentions the title of the album On the 6 is about the 6th subway line in New York that she would take to go to her dance and voice lessons.

The album was very successful and sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Some of the singles including, “If You Had My Love,” “Let’s Get Loud,” and “Waiting for Tonight,” became worldwide hits. The tracklist covers 16 songs for a total of around 70 minutes of listening. The album was a product of Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

A fan tweeted in the past how she celebrated the album’s 20th anniversary. “I would play this on repeat when I got home from school all day until my mom yell at me,” @NataliePLopez87 said.

It appears new music from the singer might be on the way as Jennifer posted a photo of herself in the studio on Instagram back in May. The caption stated, “Sexy summer fun coming 🎶 💕.”

Until new music arrives, fans can stream the album and other hit singles from J.Lo on Spotify and Apple Music.
