The trailer was released across Nickelodeon’s social media channels and is full of mishaps and dysfunctional antics that only a starfish could manage. The trailer portrays Patrick as his typical goofy self seen in his original debut in Spongebob Squarepants. Patrick causes destruction, flies around with his best buddy Spongebob, and even has a sister in this new show. The 30-second clip starts with the starfish looking at his cuckoo clock watch and breaking that fourth wall by looking at the camera and saying, “It’s almost time for my show!”

The first mention of the series was back in March. According to the show’s official press release, “Nickelodeon is diving deeper into Bikini Bottom to give fans a look at our lovable young adult Patrick Star and his entire family with a sitcom only he could imagine up.” The newly released trailer is living up to the promise. Patrick’s new show features some new characters including, his little sister Squidina who helps make sure his show runs smoothly, alongside parents Bunny and Cecil and grandpa, Grandpat, who all help him in their ways.

Along with this new show, the franchise has also released The Spongebob Squarepants Movie: Sponge on the Run, as well as the first season of Kamp Koral, a Spongebob prequel, both of which aired back in March on Paramount Plus. Spongebob Squarepants has been one of the most popular kids’ shows since its initial release back in 1999 and has continued to provide new and creative content for its fanbase over the years.

Fans of the starfish and his friends have also shared their excitement for even more new content from the undersea creatures across social media. One user tweeting, “Alright, Patrick Star fan club meeting is in order, how you guys feeling about the show?” and another fan sharing a funny meme to explain why they will be watching a show made for a much younger audience.

Amid the fan reactions and trailer, there isn’t an official release date yet, but with July right around the corner, fans of Patrick and his undersea friends shouldn’t have to wait too long.
