Jennifer Lawrence took to social media about the most recent voting bill in the Senate.

Best known as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games saga and as Mystique in the X-Men series, Lawrence, 30, posted a video on Twitter about her support for The For the People Act (H.R.1).

The H.R.1 Bill is a bill about voter integrity. This bill allows everyone of voting age to receive a mail-in ballot, including anyone of any background. It will revoke any anti-voting laws in place. Moreover, the bill protects against voter fraud, preventing the wealthy and foreign countries from intervening in our elections. One way the bill will protect voting and stop voter fraud is the ballot marking machines must be made in the United States, the bill reads.

Lawrence urges people to participate in politics.

“Now is the time to take action. We only have a few days left before the Senate votes on the most sweeping anti-corruption bill of our lifetimes. Call your Senators now at www.represent.us/jen t and tell them to vote YES on the For the People Act,” she said in the video.

By visiting her website www.represent.us/jen, Lawrence and her team will contact your senator to get this bill passed. She emphasizes how important and critical the For the People Act is and how the American people should have the power.

“Whatever your personal politics are, whatever side of the aisle you find yourself on, you need to know that your vote matters and that the outcome of our elections are not maneuvered or manipulated,” says Lawrence.
