Red Velvet Prepares for Special 7th Anniversary This August
K-Pop girl group Red Velvet is getting ready for an unforgettable 7th debut anniversary. After weeks of suspicion, SM Entertainment finally revealed the big news with an official announcement.
On July 26, the festivity plans for Red Velvet were released to the public. The five talented members will be celebrating their debut anniversary with fans during a special ‘V Live’ broadcast on August 1 at exactly 8:01 PM KST. The live stream is said to feature the girls Irene, Yeri, Joy, Wendy, and Seulgi, reflecting on their very memorable years together. The quintet will also be showcasing some of their favorite teasers of all time and intends to play some fun games alongside their ReVeluv fandom.

Although Red Velvet seems to be booked with such important preparations, they shockingly made room for another strong musical comeback. Since the band last released a compilation album in 2019 under the name ‘The ReVe Festival: Finale,’ fans are more than ecstatic for new music. Despite it being 18 months since new group music, members Wendy and Joy also both began impressive solo careers this year. Their debut albums Like Water and Hello definitely held fans over until this August comeback, challenging listeners to be happy and find healing within themselves.

In the meantime, Red Velvet is currently taking on a nostalgic throwback event: ‘Queens Archive,’ which represents a branch of their new ‘Queens Mystic General Store’ project. At midnight KST on July 26, the stars dropped an unexpected video clip to their hit “Somethin Kinda Crazy.” Within the video, the members explore magical rooms while easter eggs to previous projects appear, such as a chessboard from their popular single “Dumb Dumb.”
More music video artifacts showcased through a vintage-store concept can be seen on Instagram. It is rumored for Red Velvet to release more “archive” B-sides and creative sneak peeks throughout this next week.
