This year’s Met Gala theme of “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” aims to celebrate American fashion and focuses on American designers – and Lili Reinhart certainly understood the assignment.

Lili Reinhardt, best known for her role as Betty Cooper in the hit CW teen drama mystery series, Riverdale was the ultimate showstopper at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit (a.k.a. the Met gala 2021). Of course, her gorgeous gown was designed to fit this year’s theme, created by Christian Siriano, an American designer. The exquisite pastel pink dress could be described as a hi-low corset type dress. The fascinating part of the gown is the 50 flowers featured, representing the official flower of all 50 states. In an Instagram story post, Reinhardt lets her fans know that “To honor the Met Gala theme, “In America: A lexicon of fashion,” my dress featured the official flower of all 50 states.”

Ironically, the 2021 Met Gala event fell on the actress’s 25th birthday. Quite the birthday party. It could be said that Lili was one of the best-dressed celebrities at the event mainly because she incorporated the theme into the gown. It truly is refreshing when the attendees work with the theme and makes for a more exciting event. The purpose of The Met Gala is to put on a show. It is the equivalent of the Oscars of fashion. Celebrities, models, actors, actresses, singers, and essentially anyone who is anyone is invited to showcase designer s work at the highest-profile costume event of the year. It is also a fundraiser to raise money for the MET’s upcoming costume exhibit.

Fans on Twitter were indeed in awe of Reinhart’s fashion choice. They quickly compared her to Rapunzel and stimulated a response comparison to cast her in a live-action Tangled remake, and we are all certainly here for it.
